About EBSA

About EBSA

Specialist operable façade, window automation, control panel and architectural louvre systems for commercial construction projects.

EBSA NZ Ltd delivers specialist window automation, natural ventilation, smoke-control, control-panel, manual window-opening and architectural glass louvre systems.

EBSA works with architects, engineers, builders, façade contractors, aluminium joiners, mechanical contractors, fire consultants, facility managers and project teams to help select, supply, coordinate and support operable façade systems.

Our role is practical and technical: we help project teams understand which product or system is suitable, how it should be integrated, what needs to be coordinated before installation, and how the system should be supported after handover.

Manual window controls

Manual shaft and lever systems, remote manual winders and related support for high-level windows and manually operated façade openings.

Why project teams use EBSA

Operable façade systems are rarely just a product selection. They need to work with the window, façade, control panel, field cabling, building services, commissioning process and long-term maintenance requirements.

  • Technical input during early design and specification stages
  • Support with actuator, louvre, control panel and manual operator selection
  • Coordination with façade contractors, aluminium joiners, electricians, mechanical contractors and builders
  • Project-specific wiring schematics where EBSA designs and supplies the control system
  • Support for D+H window automation, chain drives, rack drives, control panels and field devices
  • Practical installation, commissioning and handover support where included in the agreed scope
  • Service, replacement and maintenance support for selected operable façade systems

EBSA provides technical input for its products and systems and works with the project team to coordinate the selected solution with the wider design.

D+H window automation and control systems

EBSA NZ Ltd directly imports, supplies, installs and supports D+H Mechatronic window automation equipment. This includes D+H chain drives, rack and pinion drives, control panels, smoke ventilation control panels, sensors, switches and related control equipment.

D+H products are used across commercial window automation, natural ventilation, smoke control and façade automation applications where a reliable, commercial-grade actuator and control platform is required.

EBSA supports D+H product selection, control panel coordination, field cabling strategy, commissioning requirements, replacement support and integration with wider building systems.

European technology partners

EBSA’s product offering is supported by selected European technology partners and specialist product families used in commercial operable façade, window automation, ventilation and roof glazing applications.

Product availability, configuration and performance data are reviewed against current manufacturer documentation and the project requirements.

Support across design, delivery and maintenance

EBSA can be involved at different stages of a project depending on what the project team needs. Some projects require early design and specification input. Others require supply-only product support, installation assistance, commissioning coordination, replacement parts or service support.

Before construction

EBSA can assist with system selection, specification input, control strategy, interface planning, product schedules, actuator selection and coordination with the design team.

During delivery

EBSA can support agreed project scopes through product supply, wiring schematics, installation coordination, control panel setup, commissioning and handover support.

After handover

EBSA can provide service, maintenance, fault finding, replacement product support and technical advice for selected window automation and operable façade systems.

For existing buildings

EBSA can review existing manual or automated opening systems and assist with replacement drives, control panel upgrades, manual winder support and practical refurbishment options.

Project support and delivery coverage

EBSA supports projects nationally from its Auckland base, working directly with builders, consultants, façade contractors, aluminium joiners, electricians and other specialist trades.

Door & Window Systems Ltd may also support selected South Island projects where this suits the project scope, programme and delivery model.

Backed by wider EBSA group experience

EBSA NZ Ltd is part of the wider EBSA group, with experience across operable façade systems, window automation, natural ventilation, smoke control, architectural louvres and related specialist building systems.

This gives the local team access to a broader technical knowledge base, specialist engineering experience and established manufacturer relationships.

Frequently asked questions

What does EBSA specialise in?

EBSA specialises in operable façade systems, window automation, natural ventilation, smoke control, window control panels, manual window opening systems and architectural glass louvre systems for New Zealand projects.

This includes D+H window automation and control equipment, as well as EBSA architectural glass louvre systems such as LF550, MP2 and BT90.

Does EBSA supply D+H window automation equipment?

Yes. EBSA NZ Ltd directly imports, supplies, installs and supports D+H Mechatronic window automation equipment in New Zealand, including chain drives, rack and pinion drives, control panels, sensors, switches and related control equipment.

Can EBSA assist during the design stage?

Yes. EBSA can assist architects, engineers, façade consultants and project teams with product selection, actuator selection, control panel requirements, interface planning, specification input, installation scope and commissioning expectations.

Does EBSA only supply products, or can it support installation?

EBSA can support different delivery models depending on the project. This may include supply-only product support, supported supply, defined installation scope, installation coordination, commissioning support, service and maintenance.

Can EBSA support existing buildings?

Yes. EBSA can assist with service, replacement products, fault finding, system review, manual window control support and selected upgrade options for existing operable façade and window automation systems.

Does EBSA supply architectural glass louvre systems?

Yes. EBSA NZ supplies selected architectural glass louvre systems for New Zealand commercial façade projects, including large-format single-glazed LF550, frameless double-glazed MP2 and thermally broken BT90 glass louvre systems.

These systems are used where project teams need a more substantial architectural louvre solution than typical small-format residential louvre products.

Are EBSA glass louvre systems certified to NZS 4211?

EBSA’s key architectural glass louvre systems, including LF550, MP2 and BT90, have NZS 4211 certification for relevant tested system configurations.

This is important because not all louvre systems sold in New Zealand have the same evidence of testing or certification for New Zealand window performance requirements.

What is the difference between LF550, MP2 and BT90 louvres?

LF550 is a large-format single-glazed glass louvre system. MP2 is a frameless double-glazed glass louvre system. BT90 is a thermally broken double-glazed glass louvre system for projects where improved thermal performance and architectural façade integration are required.

EBSA can assist project teams with selecting the appropriate louvre system based on the required format, glazing type, thermal requirements, façade design, installation scope and project performance requirements.
